DOHA: President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday received the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Humanitarian Funds of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Hassan Al Thani, in Doha. President Abbas briefed Sheikh Abdulaziz on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, with a focus on the Israeli war crimes and genocidal aggression against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip. He thanked Qatari government and charitable institutions for their humanitarian relief aid to Palestinians. He reviewed the efforts exerted by the Palestinian leadership in cooperation with Arab and friendly countries to bring an end to the Israeli genocidal aggression, ensure the entry of humanitarian aid to the Strip as soon as possible and prevent the displacement of any Palestinian, as he referred to the Israeli crimes of killings, ethnic cleansing and apartheid inflicted on Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. He commended Qatar for its official and grassroots positions in support of the Palestinian people, as well as for its coordination to bring an end to the genocide and mobilize international support to end the occupation and realize the establishment of the independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital. Sheikh Abdulaziz described in detail the efforts exerted by the humanitarian funds to support Palestine and reinforce the Palestinian people's steadfastness on their land.
