Security forces arrested four defendants, including three on charges of belonging to and promoting the banned Baath Party, south of Baghdad. The Baghdad Operations Command stated in a statement that the formations of the Seventeenth Infantry Division and the units attached to it, in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department/our command, carried out pre-emptive operations for regional search and inspection, armed reconnaissance, and the establishment of temporary surprise checkpoints, which resulted in the arrest of four defendants, three of whom are in accordance with Article (9) of the law criminalizing belonging to and promoting the banned Baath Party, in conjunction with detachments from (the Baghdad Intelligence Directorate and the Popular Mobilization Forces Intelligence) in the 'Karagul and Latifiya' areas south of Baghdad.
