Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Jamal Ahmed Amer discussed on Sunday with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative Zena Ahmed the program's development projects for the remainder of the current year 2024, and the work plan for the coming year. In the meeting, Minister Amer explained that the Foreign Affairs Ministry encourages the UNDP to continue implementing development projects in the country, including supporting capacity building for the Yemeni private sector and qualifying it to implement the development projects implemented by the program in Yemen. He called on the UNDP to urge for more funding, especially since the Government of Change and Construction is providing all facilities, privileges , immunities to the UNDP , other international governmental and non-governmental organizations operating in Yemen "The provision of humanitarian and development grants and assistance should not be linked to political issues, as those affected by the reduction in humanitarian w ork are the most affected groups, which contradicts the human right to live and food," he said. UNDP Resident Representative Zena Ahmed said the program continues to implement its development projects in most of Yemen's provinces. "What the program is currently experiencing is a lack of funding from donors, and there are great efforts being made to urge them to resume funding for humanitarian and development projects in Yemen," she said.
