Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made a phone call last night with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in which he discussed the explosions that took place in Lebanon, and offered his condolences for the victims. Turkish diplomatic sources stated that Fidan received information from Mikati during the phone call regarding the communication devices explosions in Lebanon, and the Turkish Foreign Minister also expressed his condolences to the Lebanese people for the loss of lives resulting from those explosions. Nine people were killed and 2,800 injured yesterday when Pager mobile communication devices were detonated in the hands of those carrying them in Lebanon. Hezbollah held Israel "fully responsible" for the explosion of the communication devices, and promised "just retribution" for this "sinful aggression", while no official comment was issued by Tel Aviv. Recently, there has been an escalation in the mutual shelling on both sides of the Israeli-Lebanese border, coinciding with Israel's threats to launch a ground war on Lebanon despite regional and international warnings of the region exploding and getting out of control if this is implemented. Since October 8, Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, most notably Hezbollah, have been exchanging daily shelling with the Israeli occupation army across the "Blue Line" separating them, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries, most of them on the Lebanese side. These factions demand an end to the aggression launched by Israel with American support on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which has left more than 136,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world./End Source: National Iraqi News Agency
