The Federal Police announced the seizure of 47 sites for (metal smelting) without a license in an inspection campaign north of the capital, Baghdad. A statement by the Federal Police Command stated: The security effort of the Fifth Division of the Federal Police resulted in the seizure of (47) sites for (metal smelting) without official approvals and in violation of environmental safety laws and the application of health and safety standards within an inspection campaign north of the capital, Baghdad. It explained that the seizure operation came in cooperation with the National Security Service, the Environment Directorate, the Al-Zawraa District Municipality, the Violations Department, in addition to the Organized Crime Intelligence Agency, and the case was referred to the competent authorities.
