Doha: Education Above All Foundation (EAA), has commenced a new partnership with Birzeit University, with the support of its strategic partner, Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), to provide 927 full scholarships to eligible Palestinian students for the academic years 2023-2024, to support their endeavors in obtaining quality higher education. Birzeit University will offer scholarships as part of the Qatar Scholarship Program across a variety of specialties, ensuring a comprehensive educational opportunity for students, as the scholarship covers full tuition fees and includes support through academic and student services, creating an environment in which students thrive academically and personally. Director of Al Fakhoora Program at EAA Talal Al Hothal emphasized the transformative impact of this scholarship, indicating that education is a vital lifeline in the West Bank, where students face numerous challenges that hinder their development. By offering these scholarships, this partnership does not only sup port students individually, but also invests in the Palestinian society, Al Hothal said, adding that this program aims to equip these young people with the education and opportunities they need to succeed, strengthening their communities and contributing to growth and prosperity throughout the Palestinian society. For his part, President of Birzeit University Dr. Talal Shahwan highlighted the importance of this partnership with EAA, noting that cooperating with the foundation represents an important step for the university in its permanent mission to provide high-quality education to all Palestinians. This cooperation enhances the ability to provide scholarships to a wider group of students and confirms the university's commitment to academic excellence and social justice, as well as its adoption of paths to success and contribution to a sustainable and prosperous future for Palestine, Dr. Shahwan added. Qatar Scholarship Program is a significant part of the global efforts made by EAA to promote educationa l development, and aims to support marginalized and academically outstanding Palestinian youth as well as those with disabilities. This program highlights the shared commitment between EAA and Birzeit University to facilitate access to higher education, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes equal access to quality, affordable education.
