Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation army bombed Al-Mawasi area, classified as 'safe,' west of the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, killing 71 Palestinians and wounding 289 others, according to a statement by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza. The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that the occupation warplanes launched several successive raids with five missiles targeting Al-Mawasi area, which is crowded with displaced people, which led to the death of dozens of citizens, whose bodies arrived at Nasser Medical Complex, and more than 100 were injured, including serious cases. It added that the occupation army committed a major massacre by bombing camps for displaced people in Al-Nus area in Khan Yunis, leaving more than 100 martyrs and wounded, including individuals and officers from the Civil Defense, according to an initial toll. It pointed out that there are no hospitals that can receive this large number of wounded and the bodies of martyrs, in conjunction with the occupati on's destruction of the health system in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, reported the arrival of 'dozens of martyrs and wounded in an Israeli bombing that targeted Al-Mawasi area, which Israel classified as safe, west of the city of Khan Yunis,' adding that 'the area bombed by the Israeli occupation army is crowded with tents for tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians, and the majority of the victims are children and women.' Eyewitnesses said that Israeli warplanes launched a series of raids on 'al-Nus Roundabout' area within Al-Mawasi. During the past months, the Israeli occupation army called on the Palestinians to go to Al-Mawasi area, claiming that it was 'safe,' but it targeted, more than once, the tents of the displaced in the area, resulting in martyrs and wounded, amid Palestinian and international condemnation. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza with American support, leaving more than 126,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of hundreds of children.
