Two Palestinian children were lightly injured Tuesday by live fire and dozens others were hurt from tear gas fired by Israeli occupation forces during a raid into the Balata camp near the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said. Israeli troops also arrested 20 people during search-and-arrest raids into towns and villages across the West Bank with confrontations reported in a number of locations, according to Palestinian sources. The Red Crescent said in a statement that a large Israeli force stormed into Balata camp and laid siege to several neighborhoods, touching off clashes with local youth, adding that soldiers blocked Red Crescent teams from reaching the scene. The occupation army also staged raids into other refugee camps and towns in the West Bank and arrested 20 people who were referred to security agencies on charges of participating in armed resistance against the army and Jewish settlers, the Palestinian Prisoners Club said. It said dozens of homes we re searched or ransacked during the raids and young men were held up and interrogated on the spot for hours. Source: Jordan News Agency
