Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs and Chairman of the Presidential Committee to Confront Flood Damage Dr. Hussein Maqbouli conducted an inspection on Sunday of the sewage basins in Hodeida city, which have been severely impacted by recent heavy rains. During the visit, Maqbouli received a briefing from Abdulrahman Ishaq, Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Hodeida, on the extent of the damage and the necessary measures to prevent an environmental and health crisis. At al-Bayda area in Hodeidacity, Maqbouli assessed the basins, which have begun to erode due to the torrential rains and floodwaters. He expressed concern over the risks associated with the mixing of sedimentation and oxidation basins, which could have serious environmental consequences. Maqbouli assured that the committee would take immediate action, in coordination with the local authorities, to protect the sewage basins from further erosion. Source: Yemen News Agency
