Sana'a - Saba : The Specialized Criminal Division in Capital Secretariat handed down on Sunday prison sentences to three people convicted of the crime of espionage and aiding the aggression. In the session chaired by the division's head, Judge Abdullah Al-Najjar, and attended by member of the Appeals Prosecution, Judge Ali Al-Julhi, the division amended the sentence against defendant Abdullah Salem Saleh Al-Awlaki from five years to eight years in prison. It also upheld the initial verdict of five years in prison against Majid Ali Abdulalim al-Attab and Hisham Abdullah Saleh al-Zindani. The initial verdict in the case returned from the division regarding the 11 defendants was handed down on Dhu al-Qa'dah 26, 1445 AH, convicting ten of the defendants and sentencing one of them to death by firing squad, nine to ten to five years in prison, acquitting one, confiscating the house where the crime was committed and the defendants' phones used in the crime, and acquitting one due to insufficient evidence. On Muh arram 25, 1445 AH, the Specialized Criminal Court of First Instance convicted 19 defendants from the group and sentenced 16 of them to death, and imprisoned from ten to three years for three.
