Hebron: Israeli colonists set up a mobile home (caravan) on Palestinian land and launched attacks on local residents in the Masafer Yatta region, located south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank on Friday, adding to the growing wave of colonist violence in the occupied West Bank. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that a group of colonists placed a caravan on Palestinian-owned land near the village of Khirbet Samri, located to the east of the village of Shab al-Batma in the Masafer Yatta area. The caravan installation is part of ongoing efforts by colonists to expand their presence on Palestinian lands, which is often backed by Israeli military support. Simultaneously, other colonists, dressed in Israeli military uniforms, stormed the Sada al-Thalabah community in Masafer Yatta. During the raid, they harassed several Palestinian residents, searched homes and caves, slashed the tires of a farming tractor, and stole surveillance camera equipment. The colonists also fired sound bombs and toxic gas canisters towards the Palestinian residents, including children. In a separate incident, a group of colonists attacked Palestinian workers picking olives in the Farsh al-Hawa area, located to the west of Hebron city. The colonists interrogated the workers and obstructed their work, as the olive harvest season has increasingly become a flashpoint for settler violence. These incidents are part of a larger pattern of colonist attacks against Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank, often carried out under the protection of the Israeli military. Palestinian farmers and residents of rural areas are frequently targeted, especially during the olive harvest season, which is a critical time for the local economy. The attacks, which include property damage, physical assaults, and intimidation, are part of a broader effort to displace Palestinians from their land and further entrench Israeli control over the region.
