Ramallah: Colonists set fire to two vehicles and spray-painted racist slogans after infiltrating the town of Atara, north of Ramallah, early Wednesday morning.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, local sources reported that a group of extremist colonists infiltrated from a nearby settlement that is built on Palestinian-owned land. The infiltrators set fire to two vehicles belonging to local residents, Mohammad Ayoub Abu Arjila and his wife, resulting in the complete destruction of the vehicles.
Residents were awakened by the flames and thick smoke and attempted to extinguish the fire to prevent it from spreading to nearby homes. Meanwhile, the settlers withdrew towards the colony situated on Palestinian land north of the town.
This incident is part of a pattern of increasing attacks by colonists on Palestinian citizens and their property in the West Bank. These attacks are reportedly carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
