Basra Police Command carried out a large-scale security campaign in al-Qibla area, which resulted in the arrest of a number of suspects. The command stated in a statement today that "the emergency regiments, the tactical regiment, al-Qibla area intelligence, al-Qibla police station, Basra SWAT force, and K9 squads participated in the campaign, which resulted in the arrest of a number of suspects and the seizure of unlicensed weapons. It added, "The campaign comes within the framework of intensive efforts to limit the spread of illegal weapons and pursue wanted persons. The police command confirmed that these efforts come within strategic security plans aimed at strengthening the rule of law and ensuring the safety of citizens.
