Basra, The Chairman of the Basra Provincial Council, Khalaf Lafta Al-Badran, discussed with the Director General of Railways, Younis Al-Kaabi, the railway connection project between Iran and Iraq within the strategic investment plan for the 2023 budget. The two sides also discussed the importance of the development road and its passage in the Safwan district, and supporting the Railways Directorate and developing its projects, especially the rehabilitation of the Basra railway station. Al-Kaabi stated: 'Railways are an ideal national carrier that enjoys all the advantages of transportation. It was decided in one of the meetings of the Ministerial Economic Committee to oblige all state departments to transport via railway trains because they possess all the basic components.'
