Baghdad Operations Command clarified, today, Friday, the truth of what happened in al-Sadr city late last night. The command said in a statement: "Social media platforms and some media agencies circulated news of a severe clash in Sector 28 in Sadr City, east of the capital, Baghdad, which led to the injury of a citizen and an officer in the Ministry of Interior." It explained: "The truth of what happened is that at 02:30, after receiving information about a quarrel and gunfire in Sadr City, east of the capital, a joint task force and a force from the Fifth Division of the Federal Police were immediately formed, and headed to the scene of the incident, and surrounded it, and it was found that there was a quarrel between two parties with light weapons and a number of them were injured, as a result of a family dispute." It confirmed that: "The injured were transferred to the hospital and detained, and two of the perpetrators were arrested and handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal pro cedures against them."
