The Iraqi Ambassador to Egypt discussed with the Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, today, Wednesday, the possibility of treating some difficult cases of Iraqi patients in Egypt, and exchanging experiences in the field of combating drugs and addiction. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo, its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met today, Wednesday, with the Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, at the ministry's headquarters in the New Alamein City, and during the meeting, a number of bilateral files of common interest were discussed, especially in the health sector, and mechanisms for enhancing cooperation to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples. The meeting also touched, according to the statement, on the possibility of treating some difficult cases of Iraqi patients in Egypt, in addition to exchanging experiences in the field of combating drugs and addiction. The two parties stressed the need to activate the memorandum of understanding recently signed between the two countries. The two sides also discussed the tragic health situation suffered by the residents of the Gaza Strip as a result of the Zionist aggression, where the ambassador reviewed the efforts made by Iraq to support the Palestinian brothers, stressing Iraq's readiness to receive the wounded from the Gaza Strip and provide them with treatment in Iraqi hospitals.
