Armed Israeli Colonists Attack Village Near Nablus

Nablus: Armed Israeli colonists on Friday evening attacked the outskirts of Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources. They reported that armed colonists attacked several Palestinian homes on the outskirts of the village, firing live ammunition.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the assailants broke into Jabal Taruja (Taruja Mount) and Wadi Abwein, west of the village, rampaging through the area. Such violence by colonists against Palestinians and their property is a routine occurrence in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists' violence includes various forms of aggression such as property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes. There are approximately 1 million Israeli colonists living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
