Arab Transport Ministers Council holds 36th session

CAIRO, – Council of Arab Ministers of Transport held on Tuesday, its 36th session at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Alexandria.

Head of the Council, Qatar’s Minister of Transport and Communication Jassim bin Saif expressed his appreciation during the opening speech, to everyone that contributed to the joint Arab action and transport sector.

He stressed that this vital sector receives wide attention from Arab countries’ leaders because of the importance it represents in increasing rates of growth and development.

He also praised the efforts made by all countries that headed previous sessions to confront all the challenges facing this sector.

The Arab League’s Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs Ali Al-Maleki, expressed in his speech his sincere condolences to the Palestinian people, affirming the League’s firm stand regarding a ceasefire.

He also pointed out that General Secretariat pays great attention to strengthening the Arab transport sector, as it is an important foundation during crises.

President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport Ismail Abdulghafar stated that this is an era of rapid technological advancement, adding that digitalization and artificial intelligence are being used to provide services and products in an innovative and influential way in all sectors of developed countries.

He stressed that the Arab transport sector is considered the most important as it contributes to enhancing economic development and Arab integration.
