RAMALLAH: Palestinian National Council Speaker, Rawhi Fattouh, stated today that the Israeli atrocities unfolding in Gaza, particularly in the north, constitute a war crime aimed at uprooting the Palestinian people from their land and roots. In a statement on Friday, Fattouh described the Israeli occupation's attack and siege on northern Gaza, which involves encircling entire residential areas and bombing them with explosive barrels, as a moral degradation and brutality unimaginable to human minds. He emphasized that this behavior reflects the reality of an occupation that disregards international humanitarian law and human rights principles. Fattouh pointed out that the ongoing attack and siege on northern Gaza, along with the execution of hundreds of innocents left under the rubble of their homes and on the sides of roads, is clear evidence of the tyranny of the Israeli regime, which is emboldened by Western support and American protection. He affirmed that the continuous US administration's neglect of the suffering of the Palestinian people, along with its partnership and complicity with the occupation, is the main reason for the ongoing genocide and mass killings in northern Gaza and throughout the rest of the territory.
