The Arab League affirmed on Wednesday its support for Egypt's opposition to Israel's schemes to maintain occupation of the Philadelphi Corridor. In a statement, the Arab League's General Secretary Ahmad AbulGheit reacted to lies made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the alleged smuggling of arms to Hamas via the corridor, affirming that such lies might lead to compromising Egypt's pivotal role in the region. AbulGheit affirmed that Egypt's role in defending Palestine's rights is clear, and the "false actions by Netanyahu's occupation government are an attempt to cripple negotiations on achieving a ceasefire for his personal benefits." He renewed his call on the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation to stop the ongoing war on Palestine. Source: Kuwait News Agency
