Al-Sadiqoun parliamentary bloc announced its rejection of the second and third paragraphs of the proposal for the first amendment to the Passports Law presented on the agenda of the House of Representatives, which include the retention of diplomatic passports by former officials and their families. The head of the bloc, Representative Habib Al-Halawi, called, in a press statement today, Monday, for amending the two paragraphs in a way that is consistent with international practice and so that the Iraqi diplomatic passport does not lose its importance.
