The OIC warned of the danger of the Israeli occupation forces' invasion of the Palestinian city of Rafah, which threatens a humanitarian catastrophe and may lead to the expansion of tension and destabilization in the region. The OIC renewed its call on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards compelling Israel, the occupying power, to stop its military aggression and crimes throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, in the implementation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. In the same context, the Arab League emphasized that the situation in Palestine is of great concern, and that work should be done to stop the Israeli encroachment and the expected repercussions on the region and the Palestinian people, which have been on the table for months. Hossam Zaki, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, explained during his participation in the AIM Investment Summit held in Abu Dhabi, that the storming of Rafah is a very frightening scenario, and that the occupation forces wish to continue regarding their threat to Palestinian citizens. Zaki pointed out that the war exposed the shortcomings of the international system and the capabilities of international and regional organizations, noting that the international system is unable to deal with the situation in a positive manner.
