Bethlehem-Ma'an-An employee of the Jerusalem Governorate Company/Bethlehem branch was subjected to a strange attack with the aim of theft, in Beit Jala, northwest of Bethlehem. The incident details: An outlaw lured the Jerusalem Electricity Company tax collector, Mohammed Thawabta, after asking him to help him carry a gas cylinder and bring it into his house, claiming that he was suffering from an injury to his hand. He then surprised him from behind and hit him on the head with a hammer and attacked him with pepper gas, which caused him to suffer skull fractures. However, Thawabta was able to resist him and escape from him, as a taxi driver noticed his injury and took him to the Arab Society Hospital, where he underwent a successful surgery. He is still in intensive care in a stable health condition. According to local sources, the perpetrator is known for his illegal behavior, and the Palestinian police were able to arrest him and refer him to the competent authorities according to the law and regulations .
