The Supreme Judicial Council condemned in the strongest terms the Zionist enemy's assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital, Tehran. In a statement issued by it, the Council considered this act a blatant violation and breach of the sovereignty of states , international law, and an escalating crime that is added to the Zionist enemy crimes in occupied Palestine and southern Lebanon, which will push the region towards more tension. The Council expressed its sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the martyr Haniyeh, and to the sisterly State of Palestine and its people. The Judicial Council also condemned the Zionist aggression on the Lebanese capital Beirut yesterday, and Israel's continued violations of Lebanese sovereignty. It noted that these crimes will only lead to dragging the region towards the expansion of war and threatening international peace and security. It called on the international communit y to assume its responsibilities and take immediate measures to stop the aggression on Gaza and Israel's violations of state sovereignty, international law and UN resolutions.
