Amnesty International Urges Israel to Free Detained Health Workers

GAZA CITY: Amnesty International has issued a call for the immediate and unconditional release of health workers detained by Israel, including Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. The organization has expressed grave concerns regarding the detention of these individuals, who play critical roles in providing healthcare in the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Amnesty International released a statement on Monday highlighting the precarious situation faced by Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and other health professionals detained by Israeli authorities. The organization emphasized the urgent need for these workers to be freed to continue their essential duties amid ongoing conflicts.

Amnesty International has also called on Israel to release all Palestinians detained arbitrarily, stressing that health workers should not be hindered from performing their duties in conflict zones. The statement further urged the international community to take immediate action to address what the organization describes as the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
