Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed that Iraq seeks to achieve regional security and stability. The Prime Minister added: We plan to launch initiatives that reflect economic integration and regional stability in the region, most notably the "Development Road" project. The Prime Minister pointed out: The Development Road project aims to transform Iraq into a major regional hub for trade and transportation and link the Middle East to Europe via Iraq using a network of railways, highways and industrial cities and linking the Grand Faw Port in southern Iraq to Europe via countries in the region. He continued: Iraq faces serious environmental challenges as a result of climate change and desertification, which are challenges that cannot be addressed without strengthening international cooperation. The Prime Minister stressed: Desertification and the exposure of the vegetation cover lead to the displacement of millions in search of stability, which exacerbates social and political crises. The Prime Minister called for international solidarity to confront environmental challenges and work to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable management of water resources.
