A statement from his office stated: "Al-Sudani received, today, Monday, the head of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftan, and international weightlifter Ali Ammar, who recently participated in the Paris Olympics. Al-Sudani confirmed the government's continued provision of full support and assistance to sports in all its forms, as it represents today a means that reflects the country's external image, in addition to being an important entitlement at the level of government commitment towards Iraqi athletes. He explained: "The Olympic champion project, which was established during the current government, is an ambitious project in order to create Olympic champions who compete in the Olympic Games and achieve victory and ascend the advanced podiums."
