Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed: "Enhancing security and stability in Diyala is one of the government's priorities," praising the role of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries in the province in confronting terrorism and sedition plots. The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement: "Al-Sudani met, today, Wednesday, with a group of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries of Diyala Governorate from various components, as part of his visit to the governorate to follow up and inaugurate a number of service projects." During the meeting, the social, economic and service conditions of the province were reviewed, as well as the level of work of government departments in it, in light of the projects being completed in various sectors, in order to provide basic services to citizens, which the government pledged in its program and basic priorities. Al-Sudani praised the role of tribal sheikhs, dignitaries, religious and social figures in the province, in confronting terrorism and thwarting the sedition plan s that were being spread among the people of Diyala, stressing that: "The tribes represent a real support for the state and the government in establishing security and supporting the law."
