Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired a meeting today that included the Governor of Diyala and the Chairman and members of the Provincial Council, in the presence of members of the House of Representatives from Diyala, as part of his visit to the province to follow up on service projects. Al-Sudani stressed, according to a statement by his media office, the importance of Diyala's security and stability, which is reflected in the capital, Baghdad, because it was the bulwark against terrorism. He stressed the need to work as an integrated team, and the need to overcome differences and implement tasks in order to achieve what is required, stressing that the province and its agencies are the second executive arm in the state after the ministries, and this is a philosophy on which this government is based, noting that the government has regained the confidence of citizens, which is an important achievement that must continue, especially in the service aspect. Al-Sudani pointed out that infrastructure projects are a priority for the government, and it is imperative to complete them, especially the delayed ones, stressing the formation of a committee that will begin its work next week to follow up on the outcomes of his visit to Diyala Governorate, and submit its recommendations to the Council of Ministers, explaining the need to start municipal service projects, such as paving and sidewalks, for areas where infrastructure projects have been completed.
