Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's principled position to stand with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples. Al-Sudani said in a statement: "In a new sinful attack and a crime that confirms the Zionist entity's transgression of all red lines, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, ascended as a martyr on the path of truth, to attain the best in this world and the hereafter, and followed the path of the heroic martyrs who devoted themselves to the cause of confronting the brutal occupation." He added: "The criminal act that targeted the southern suburb yesterday expresses the reckless desire to expand the conflict, at the expense of all the peoples of the region and their security and stability." He continued: "The major issues, including the just Palestinian cause and brotherly Lebanon's confrontation of the ongoing Zionist attacks, all confirm that the peoples are the ones who will ultimately triumph, on their land, and the homeland of their history an d heritage." Al-Sudani pointed to the responsibility of the United Nations and international organizations, the permanent members of the UN Security Council, and all countries with influence in the region, to deter aggression and stop the ethnic genocide of the Palestinians that the occupation has been practicing for decades, and has been practicing horribly since last October against our people in Gaza, and has recently extended to try to harm our brotherly Lebanese people, so it persisted in random killing until hundreds of innocent Lebanese were martyred in a few days, so in whose interest is the aggression expanding? He stressed Iraq's principled position of standing with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, which is based on international legitimacy and the humanitarian and moral principles that require supporting brotherly peoples who cling to their land and their civilized existence.
