German Chancellor Merz Opposes Israel’s Plan for Humanitarian City in Rafah

Berlin: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has voiced firm opposition over Israel's plan to establish a so-called "humanitarian city" in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Merz expressed growing dissatisfaction with Israel's conduct in Gaza during remarks made to the press on Sunday. He stated, "The Palestinian people have the right to a place where they can live. What is currently happening in Gaza is simply not acceptable."

The Chancellor also reiterated his support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He expressed hope that progress could be achieved in coordination with the U.S. administration.
