Al Sadd announced that its first football team will play four friendly matches during its training camp in Malaga, Spain, in preparation for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. The club stated on Tuesday that the team, which begins its camp today and will continue until July 29, will face Manchester 62 from Gibraltar on July 15, followed by a match against South Africa's Orlando Pirates on July 19. The Qatari league champions will continue their friendly matches with a third game against Spanish side Las Palmas on July 23, and will conclude their friendly schedule with a match against Spanish club Almeria on July 28. Al Sadd won the Qatari football league title in the past 2023-2024 season and also secured HH the Amir Cup by defeating Qatar SC 1-0 in the final at Education City Stadium.
