Doha: Al Rayyan claimed the title of Men's Handball League two rounds before the end of the competition after defeating Al Arabi 32-24 in their match at Al Duhail Sports Hall today in the sixteenth round of the league. Al Rayyan dominated in the first half which ended with 17-11 and continued dominance in the second half to ultimately win by an eight-goal margin. With this victory, Al Rayyan raised their tally to 45 points, winning the title for the fifteenth time in their history, regardless of the results of their remaining two matches against Al Duhail and Al Shamal, while Al Arabi finished in second place with 40 points and lost their chance to obtain the league title. In other matches, Al Duhail defeated Al Wakrah 27-26 with 37 points in third place compared to 30 points for Al Wakrah in sixth place. Al Ahli also defeated Al Shamal with 25-24, raising Al Ahli's points to 35 in fourth place and Al Shamal's points to 19 in tenth place. Al Sadd beat Al Gharafa with 37-33, bringing their tally to 28 po ints in seventh place compared to 32 points for Al Gharafa in fifth place.
