Al-Mashaer Al-Muqadasa Metro streamlines pilgrimage

Photo event by (Fawaz Asmiran) MAKKAH, To enrich the experience of the "guests of God" and provide them with the best comfort, Al-Mashaer Al-Muqadasa Metro in Saudi Arabia makes it so easy and comfortable for pilgrims to move between holy sites and do their rituals. The Metro consists of nine stations distributed at holy sites, connected by a double railway line with a length of 18 km, a capacity of 72,000 passengers per hour and a speed of 80 kmh. It covers the distance between Mina and Arafat in approximately twenty minutes. The Metro, which transports hundreds of thousands of pilgrims is environmentally friendly since it runs on electric power, thus making its carbon emissions zero. Source: Kuwait News Agency
