Acting Speaker of the Council of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi called on Europe, today, Thursday, to restore its position in the field of defending human rights by pressuring to stop Zionist terrorism. A statement from his media office stated that Al-Mandalawi received, today, Thursday, at his residence in Baghdad, a group of ambassadors of the European Union countries, to discuss the latest political developments and regional developments, as well as files of common interest. Al-Mandalawi said: "Iraq has moved from the priority of security to the priorities of the economy, sustainable development and openness to long-term partnerships with all countries of the world, stressing: "The distinguished geographical location and the nature of the diverse relations that Iraq possesses with all regional and international parties enable it to play an important role in calming the conflict and tensions in the region," noting that "a team has been formed to follow up and monitor developments and communicate with all concerned parties internally and externally and maintain communication with the European Union representations and other diplomatic missions regarding current events." He stressed, according to the statement: "The Zionist genocide crimes that have exacerbated the humanitarian situation and led to an increase in illegal immigration, portend dire consequences for international security and peace," warning of a severe global economic crisis in light of the threat of an energy war and the continued state of instability in the region, which is the main source of energy in the world. He explained that parliamentary diplomatic efforts are working alongside the government to support efforts aimed at sparing the region the risks of war, calling at the same time on Europe to restore its position in the field of defending human rights through a real move to end Zionist terrorism. The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives pointed out that the Zionist entity is waging a fierce media campaign that accompani es the aggressive military campaign against religious authority, especially Sayyid Ali al-Sistani and our symbols and Islamic sanctities, stressing the absolute rejection of harming the position of the supreme authority and that this is a "red line" and the world must stand against this plan that is pushing the region to the brink of a religious conflict that serves the Zionist agendas.
