The Coalition stated in a statement: "Al-Maliki met in his office today with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Muhammad Kazim Al-Sadiq." He added: "At the beginning of the meeting, the latest developments in the political and security situations in Iraq and the region were discussed, as well as the course of the usurping Zionist aggression against Palestine and Lebanon and the necessity of diplomatic action to stop it." The Head of the State of Law Coalition affirmed Iraq's firm and principled position, alongside the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and the justice of the causes in which they defend their lands against the criminal Zionist aggression, calling for continuing efforts in all international forums to support the international efforts to stop the war and ensure that it does not expand. For his part, Ambassador Al-Sadiq affirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran's endeavor to cooperate and coordinate among the countries of the region in pressuring the international community to stop the Zionist recklessness and its crimes against Palestine and Lebanon, praising Iraq's relief efforts to support the displaced and intensify efforts in the humanitarian field in both countries.
