Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil called on the political forces to spare the province from the conflicts and political differences that have recently increased in the Nineveh Council and the local government. He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): 'There are political conflicts that emerged with the formation of the Nineveh Local Council that must end, while avoiding problems among the political blocs and parties that obstruct the progress of the reconstruction of the city of Mosul, and therefore all the political formations elected in the Nineveh Council came in order to serve the Nineveh Governorate.' Al-Dakhil added, "Today, we, as a local government, must strive to enter the reconstruction phase while covering the file of destroyed buildings, institutions, and homes and reviving them again," indicating to everyone to keep Nineveh away from political conflicts and disputes and to resort to the law and the constitution in resolving existing disputes away from obstructing th e reconstruction revolution in the city of Mosul.
