A security source in Dhi Qar Governorate reported that an inmate escaped while being transferred to a prison in the north of the governorate. The source told the 'Nasiriyah News Network' that 'a man sentenced to two years in prison on charges of theft escaped yesterday evening, Tuesday, from the hands of members of the security services from a police station north of Dhi Qar Governorate.' The source stated, 'The security forces imposed a security cordon on the scene of the accident, and began search operations for the purpose of pursuing and arresting him.
