A joint security force began carrying out a security operation in the Hamrin Hills in Diyala Governorate. A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "A joint security force began an operation from two axes in the Hamrin Hills, northeast of Baqubah, to comb areas with slopes and hills, in addition to agricultural roads and secure the surrounding villages." He added: "The operation comes within the strategy of strengthening the surroundings of remote areas surrounding major cities," indicating: "The intelligence effort has a major role in the plan for the security forces to penetrate deep into the Hamrin Hills."
