Yesterday, the Afar Customs Center in Al-Bayda province incinerated 188 barrels of tomato paste, as reported by the Standards, Metrology, and Quality Control Authority. Fahd Hazza, the center's director, informed Saba that the disposed quantity was not usable because the packaging was torn and compromised; the contents had leaked from the inner packaging, and some packages had become bloated. He emphasized that the destruction process was conducted according to the established procedures and in the presence of representatives from the relevant authorities, underscoring that there is no leniency when it comes to confiscating goods that are unfit for human consumption.
