The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced the arrest of four wanted persons on charges of terrorism, kidnapping, and drug trafficking in Babylon and Baghdad governorates. The Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that: 'Through accurate intelligence information, the detachments of the Babylon Intelligence and Security Directorate, affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense, arrested three persons wanted by the judiciary on charges of terrorism, drug trafficking, and smuggling of petroleum derivatives, and arrest warrants were issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Articles ( 1/4 terrorism, 28 drugs, 3 petroleum derivatives), and legal measures were taken against them and referred to the competent authorities.' It added, "With careful field follow-up, the detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate arrested one of those wanted by the judiciary in one of the areas of the capital, according to an arrest warrant issued against him in accordance with Article (421) of kidnapping, and he was handed over to the competent authorities.
