17 civilians killed, 35 injured as result of cluster munitions and remnants of war since beginning of 2024

The National Committee for Mine Action has documented the killing and injuring of 52 civilians, most of them women and children, as a result of the cluster munition and remnants of war in a number of governorates, since the beginning of 2024. The committee said in a statement received by Saba that these remnants caused the killing of 17 and the injuring of 35 since the beginning of this year. It pointed out that the fall of 300 civilians was documented during the year 2023, including 108 martyrs, most of them children and women. With these numbers of casualties, work on the removal of remnants of war remains suspended for the ninth consecutive month by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
