A total of 141 people were killed and 59 others were missing after Typhoon Yagi caused landslides and floods in northern Vietnam. Vietnamese local authorities confirmed that the Le River Dam in Quyet Thang commune was destroyed due to the high water level of the river. It also warned that the water level of the Hong (Red) River in the capital Hanoi has exceeded the second warning level of the three flood control levels, and is expected to reach the highest warning level, according to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting. The center also issued a warning about the significant rise in water levels in the Thao River, explaining that low-lying areas on the banks of rivers are at high risk of flooding.
