Islamabad, June 04 - At least 11 people were killed as a result of a gas leak inside a coal mine in Balochistan province, southwestern Pakistan. Radio Pakistan reported that the accident occurred 40 km from the city of Quetta in the province, where 11 miners were trapped while working. Last March, Pakistan witnessed a similar accident which resulted in the death of 12 people, following the explosion of a coal mine in the Harnai district of Balochistan province, while eight other workers were rescued. Fatal accidents are common in Pakistani mines known for dangerous working conditions and poor safety standards. Source: Qatar News Agency
