The Supreme Authority for Science, Technology and Innovation, in partnership with Dhamar University, organized on Sunday an introductory workshop on the research map of the Republic of Yemen and its electronic platform. In the workshop, in which a number of academics, researchers and interested parties participated, the President of Dhamar University, Dr. Muhammad Al-Haifi, stressed the importance of the research map in enhancing economic and social development efforts based on scientific research and innovation, and benefiting from competencies and talents. While the Science, Technology and Innovation Authority Undersecretary , Dr. Nasser Al-Ma'afa, considered the research map a national priority to achieve partnership and sustainable development in the Republic of Yemen. Al-Ma'afa stressed that the project seeks to encourage efforts to form research teams, scientific research centers, specialized technical incubators, and contribute to the evaluation of curricula, programs, study plans in higher educatio n institutions, support the opening of scientific programs and specializations in universities, colleges, and institutes, according to the labor market requirements , and reduce the gap between theoretical research and practical reality. In turn, the Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Karim Zubaiba, praised the efforts of the Science, Technology and Innovation Authority in implementing the research map project for the Republic of Yemen, and coordinating with academic institutions with the aim of developing scientific research, and supporting researchers and innovators.
