White House National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby said on Tuesday evening that he believes that Iran is preparing to launch an attack on Israel. He pointed out that the United States will defend Israel if Iran attacks it. Kirby added in a statement to Channel 12 Israel: "We sent a message to Iran not to do so, and there is no reason to ignite the fuse of a regional war." He pointed out that: "It is difficult to predict the chances of an attack, but the White House takes the Iranian rhetoric seriously, and we believe that they are still in a good position and ready to launch an attack if they want to do so, and that is why we have strengthened our forces in the region." The Pentagon announced yesterday, Monday, that the United States believes that the risk of Israel being exposed to a new attack by Iran or its allies still exists, after the Lebanese Hezbollah launched an attack with missiles and drones on Sunday.
