Wasit government discusses the Chinese Oasis Company’s oil projects in the province

Wasit Governor Mohammed Jamil Al-Mayahy discussed with the Director of the Chinese Oasis Company, which is implementing Al-Ahdab oil field, Jiang Mink, the oil projects in the province. Al-Mayahy told the Iraqi National News Agency / NINA / We discussed the issue of implementing strategic projects in Wasit, including the "Kut Refinery" and investment power stations. Al-Ahdab oil field is located 18 km west of the city of Kut and its area is 300 km2. It was discovered through seismic surveys of the Diyala-Kut region in 1977 by the Romanian Hadab Brigade. The China National Petroleum Corporation signed a 23-year contract to operate the field in 2008. Its production capacity is 120,000 barrels per day. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
