Ramallah: Vice President and Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee, Hussein al-Sheikh, welcomed on Sunday evening the recognition of the State of Palestine by Britain, Canada, and Australia, considering it a victory for Palestinian rights and the justice of their cause.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, al-Sheikh stated in a post on X that this recognition represents “an international victory for rights, suffering, displacement, and oppression, and a victory for humanity, justice, peace, and the right of peoples to self-determination.”
He expressed gratitude towards Britain, Canada, and Australia for their acknowledgment, describing it as a historic day for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, a testament to their patience, steadfastness, resilience, and sacrifices.
Al-Sheikh emphasized that this development opens a new horizon for the global community to do justice to the Palestinian people and to realize their right to freedom and independence.
