USTDA signs 2 grant agreements with KHCC, EHS

Amman: Two grant agreements provided by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) for the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) and the Electronic Health Solutions (EHS) Company were signed at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation on Wednesday. According to a Ministry statement, the agreement was signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan on behalf of the Jordanian government, while the agreement was signed on behalf of USTDA by its Director, Enoh T. Ebong, on behalf of EHS by its Chairman, Rami Farraj, and on behalf of KHCC by its Director General, Nisreen Qatamish, in the presence of US Ambassador to Jordan, Yael Lempert. Minister Toukan extended the Jordanian government's thanks and appreciation to the USTDA and the United States government for their continuous support and contribution to the health sector and automation in the Kingdom, lauding the USTDA's role and strategic partnership in supporting many local projects in the water, health, energy, environ ment, communications, and information technology sectors, and pointing out the importance of prioritizing the Kingdom in terms of the agency's future activities and directions. Under the support agreement with EHS, USTDA is providing a grant of $937,390 to conduct an assessment of the status of the electronic healthcare management system and provide recommendations that will improve system quality, services, automation, expand coverage, and increase the efficiency of patient access to healthcare services. Under the support agreement provided to KHCC, the USTDA is providing a grant of $826,252 to develop a detailed strategic plan and an implementation plan to establish an artificial intelligence approach. EHS Chairman, Rami Farraj said: "The partnership with the US Agency has been in place since 2013, and today the signing of this agreement paves the way towards comprehensive and advanced digital healthcare services."
