US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Cairo on Monday at the start of a tour in the Middle East to work on reaching a truce in the Gaza Strip. The US State Department announced on June 7 that Blinken will travel to Egypt, Israel occupying entity, Jordan, and Qatar to discuses the current truce proposal on the table. Blinken's visit to the region aims at continuing the Gaza Strip ceasefire agreement discussions. The US official will stress during his tour the importance of regarding a ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners and detainees, US State Department said. Source: Kuwait News Agency
